A private blog network (PBN) refers to a network of websites and blogs that are created for the sole purpose of building artificial links. The goal is to have these “feeder” sites link back to a target website, in order to pass link equity and boost its search engine ranking.

To set up a PBN, a webmaster registers a large number of domain names and builds out basic websites and blogs on each one. Very little unique content is created, as the sole focus is link building.The webmaster controls all the sites in the network. Links are then strategically placed on the PBN sites pointing back to the target website the webmaster is trying to rank.
These internal links between PBN sites help build relevancy and link equity within the network. Outbound links from multiple domains in the network to the target site transfers that equity to boost its search performance.Ideally, the PBN links appear natural and spread out across sites with different registrars, hosting, designs etc. to avoid easy detection.

It takes significant effort to create content that is valuable, engaging and appealing enough to earn genuine links. High-quality content requires research, unique insights, and good writing.
